What is a feature voting?

Feature voting is a prioritization method where users vote on submitted ideas, and vote counts help a team decide what to build next based on demand rather than gut feel.

The premise is simple: instead of one loud customer or one internal opinion deciding what gets built, everyone who cares gets a vote, and the tally becomes a data point in the prioritization decision. It's not the only input — effort, strategic fit, and technical dependencies still matter — but it replaces guesswork about what customers want with an actual count.

Voting only works if it's fair. That means one vote per person (deduplicated by account or IP, not by however many times someone clicks), and it means the vote count should be visible so the ranking feels earned rather than arbitrary. A voting system that can be gamed by refreshing a page isn't measuring demand — it's measuring who found the exploit.

How Feevox handles this

Feevox enforces one vote per user or IP on every idea, so the ranking reflects real demand — and because voting is unlimited on every plan, a launch-day spike never gets throttled or billed as overage.
